Humble Beginnings and the Birth of Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons Late Shri Nemichand Bamalwa, hailing from a traditional Marwari family in Ladnun, Rajasthan, arrived in Calcutta in 1962 with little more than determination and a vision. Starting a modest jewellery business in Burra Bazar, he worked tirelessly to establish a name. His commitment to excellence laid the foundation for a brand that would soon become synonymous with fine jewellery in India.

In 1987, Nemichand Bamalwa, alongside his four visionary sons Madanlal, Hansraj, Bachhraj and Bajranglal formalised their presence in the jewellery industry by founding Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons. Their pioneering spirit led to the introduction of 22/22K gold jewellery. Prior to this, traditional soldering practices often compromised gold purity, resulting in a loss of value for buyers. Nemichand Bamalwa & Sons became a trailblazer in the Indian jewellery industry by guaranteeing that the melted purity of their ornaments would be 22 karats. This concept revolutionised the jewellery business. To prove their commitment, customers were encouraged to test gold purchased as far back as 1986 at government laboratories. The '22/22K Campaign' forced many jewellers to either adopt ethical practices or exit the market, cementing Nemichand Bamalwa's reputation as a leader in purity and customer trust.
