A Soiree In Blue
Among brand Breguet’s latest offerings to devotees of refined aestheticism is Breguet Classique 5177 Grand Feu Blue Enamel, which revisits the neoclassical lines favoured by Breguet founder Abraham-Louis Breguet in the eighteenth century. A part of Breguet’s new collection for 2019, the watch stands out for its unique blue Grand Feu enamel dial, which is a first for the brand. To add to the painstaking enameling process, the dial features the particular shade of blue that characterises Breguet’s iconic blued hands, uniformly across the entire dial, reflecting the brand’s mastery over both aesthetics and craftsmanship. To ensure readability, in a departure, the moon-tipped hands of the watch come in rhodium-plated steel, while the Arabic numerals and the stars, diamond shapes and fleur-de-lis on the chapter ring come silvered.
To match aesthetics with functionality, the Classique 5177 Grand Feu Blue Enamel features a 777Q mechanical caliber, housed in an 18-carat white gold case, while a sapphire-crystal case back allows you to see the engine-turned gold rotor—an essential feature of self-winding movements. Among its other features are a contrasting midnight blue alligator leather strap that adds elegance and harmony to the blue theme of the timepiece and an individual number engraved on the back of each watch that makes it unique to its owner.
