Festive Fashion from LFW 2019

Sep 20, 2019

The Lakme Fashion Week (LFW) is one of the most prestigious fashion events of the country. The recently held Winter Festive edition of LFW saw acclaimed designers showcase their beautiful and innovative collections. With a profusion of classic lehengas and unique ensembles, all with their own twists, the latest creations from the event served as inspiration for the upcoming festive season. From the endless choices and creations, we bring you a few of our hand-picked favourites for the festive season.

Gaurang Shah

Known as the master of weaves, Gaurang Shah’s take on the Maharashtrian pehwai weave was spectacular. That apart, a myriad shades bedazzled the runway with the beautiful nuances of the designer’s classic paithani. A white lehenga with floral details, paired with a stark green dupatta and a red blouse, stood out for its remarkable combination, in particular.

Jayanthi Reddy

Jayanthi Reddy’s show oozed oodles of glitz and glamour with creations from her new collection Benaras & Beyond. A violet anarkali featuring extensive embroidery on top and panel details on the flare was the perfect choice for an elegant, fuss-free look. The dark ensemble, paired with an off-white dupatta, was admirable for its combination and look.

Saroj Jalan

Saroj Jalan’s collection was about earthy tones with a mystical charm that reflected heavy old school vibes. A metallic yellow monochromatic ensemble featuring a flowy, yellow lehenga, embellished with ornate golden embroidery and paired with a similar dupatta, grabbed the eyeballs. This monochrome look will be a timeless addition to your wardrobe.

Arpita Mehta

Arpita Mehta’s collection came with pops of colours, ranging from bright yellows to hot pinks. The lehengas were our favourite from her fun collection, especially a pink number adorned with almond-shaped embroidery, which matched with an irresistible jacket with heavy mirror embellishments and embroidery, gave the whole outfit a sophisticated and classy look.

Riddhi Mehra

Riddhi Mehra’s ‘An Ode to the Heirlooms’ collection saw a selection of bright versions, as well as subtle colours. The catchiest was a bright red ensemble, featuring small motifs all over. Cinched with a belt for a structured look, together with a chic draping style, the outfit emanated a modern sari feel, and was our top pick for the upcoming festive season.
