Luxury Timepieces From Around The World

Versace

Hellenyium Chrono luxury watches have been redefined for the new chronograph, featuring a 44 mm case with three counters and tachymetric scale. A perfect mix of sporty and chic, the new collection reprises the brand’s iconic motifs: at 12 o’clock is the Medusa head in 3D, while the logo is repeated on the case’s inner ring. The labyrinthine Greca motif graces the dial with its allusion to infinity. Available in silver-white, black, blue, or green dials, the style is highlighted by the canvas inserts on the leather strap, and gives the chronograph more character. The timepieces start from R99,500 onward.

BRIETING

A redesign of its sporty sea watch, the new collection is a modern take on its classic. It retraces the pared-down aesthetic of the original SuperOcean Slow Motion, while adding modern features and a bright palette of colour. A high-contrast dial ring was introduced to the crucial minute’s scale and out went subtle indexes in favour of chunky luminescent batons for easy readability. The seconds’ hand is replaced with a revolutionary minutes-based chronograph which takes an hour to make a full rotation of the dial.

ETHOS

Ethos Limited has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with the globally-renowned watch and jewellery brand Jacob & Co. It will now make the luxury timepieces accessible to the Indian market as its exclusive retailer. As a watchmaker known for creating haute horlogerie pieces, high-complication watches and dramatic displays, the brand will resonate with the Indian clientele with similar values of excellence and dedication.

TIMEX

The Waterbury Ocean collection is an upcycled collection made of ocean-bound plastic to tackle pollution. The collection honours the brand’s values of design and durability and takes a step toward sustainability future with the usage of waste, ocean bound material, furthering the brand’s commitment to tackle important issues such as pollution in our oceans. The collection comes in five colours and is 30m water-resistant.

AUDEMARS PIGUET

Sound has always been at the heart of the watchmaking art from the chiming of bells to the tick tock of a clock. From partnering with artists Jay-z and Mark Robinson to timepieces inspired by the world of music, Audemars Piguet has been honouring that. Its new collection with five new Royal Oak Offshore references pays homage to the musical world through design. The Tapisserie dials bear the pattern of an equaliser as found in recording studios.

BLANCPAIN

Measuring 43 mm in diameter and water-resistant to 300 m, the new Bathyscaphe Quantième Complet is available in two satin-brushed versions with well-marked contours: a red gold version with a blue-gradient dial; and a titanium version with an anthracite dial. Through their distinct styles, these models bring together two emblematic universes: the sporting DNA of its famous Fifty Fathoms diver’s watch; and its traditional complete calendar with moon phases. The Bathyscaphe is one of the mainstays of the Fifty Fathoms collection that has evolved over the years and was reinterpreted in 2013 to mark the 60th anniversary.

A. LANGE & SOHNE

The 1815 Rattrapante edition is focused on the eponymous complication, and endowed with a custom-developed movement that also delivers the foundation for a totally unique dial design. The new model comes with a platinum case with a diameter of 41.2 millimetres, and two superposed chronograph hands, the centre chronograph hand and the centre rattrapante hand, and both start together when the pusher at 2 o’clock is actuated. Given its horological intricacy, this masterpiece is limited to a global 200-piece edition.
