Luxury sports car manufacturer Porsche is extending the coveted GTS (Gran Turismo Sport) principle to its Boxter and Cayman models for the first time ever. The GTS badge has promised outstanding performance to Porsche ever since the legendary 904 Carrera was launched in 1963. The Boxster GTS and Cayman GTS feature uprated engines as well as Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) chassis, which offer the driver a choice of sportier or more comfortable settings at the press of a button. The six-cylinder boxer engines, based on the 3.4-litre units from the Boxster S and Cayman S, are fine-tuned to deliver an additional 15 horsepower. The Boxster GTS’s top speed is 279 km/hr, while the Cayman GTS is even faster at 283 km/hr. The new models achieve an overall fuel consumption of 8.2 l/100 km.
